Anacostia Community Boathouse Association (ACBA) is a volunteer-run organization that provides opportunities for non-motorized recreational water activities such as rowing and paddling through its member organizations, which include four high schools, a university, three community-based clubs and an environmental organization.
ACBA leases its Boathouse and other facilities from the District of Columbia, and assesses dues to its member organizations to operate and maintain the site.
Funds to improve our site come from generous community donations. Past improvements have included a new and more durable boathouse roof, new accessible parking, more and better equipment to safely handle boats inside our boathouse and the Robert Day Memorial Flag Pole. Future improvements planned include resurfacing the plaza, dock maintenance, upgrading our Restroom/Changing Room/Shower 'trailers' with permanent year-round facilities, and dramatically improving our 'clubhouse' with expanded training and meeting facilities.
Your generous donation will help us keep rowing and paddling on the Anacostia strong for years to come!
